There are 2 sections to the relaxation technique.
The first is a breathing exercise which will help you feel back in control. The techniques will help you feel less anxious and tense and you will feel relaxed and calm. Can be used in a crisis when you feel out of control to reduce the ‘fight or flight’ symptoms.
Use the breathing technique regularly through the day to maintain a feeling of calm and being in control.
The second technique uses visualisation to induce a state of deep relaxation. It can also be used at bedtime to relax completely and induce sleep.
