Relaxation exercise

Listen to this relaxation exercise with total concentration. Switch your phone off, listen when you are not going to be interrupted.

There are 2 sections to the relaxation technique.

The first is a breathing exercise which will help you feel back in control.┬áThe techniques will help you feel less anxious and tense and you will feel relaxed and calm. Can be used in a crisis when you feel out of control to reduce the ‘fight or flight’ symptoms.

Use the breathing technique regularly through the day to maintain a feeling of calm and being in control.

The second technique uses visualisation to induce a state of deep relaxation. It can also be used at bedtime to relax completely and induce sleep.

N.B Not to be used while driving!
